Two years ago, Camron Waugh’s limited exposure to NASCAR came when he went over to his buddy’s college dormitory room and that week’s Sprint Cup race was on television.
Even then, knowing next to nothing about the sport, he was drawn to pit stops.
Fast forward to Thursday night at Time Warner Cable Arena and the 2011 Sprint Pit Crew Challenge—and there was Waugh right in the middle of all the fast and furious action. Waugh now serves as the front-tire changer on the No. 48 Chevrolet driven on race days by five-time defending Cup champion Jimmie Johnson.
