In 2008, Swiss mountaineer Ueli Steck completed the challenging and deadly Heckmair route up Switzerland’s Eiger Mountain by himself in only 2 hours and 47 minutes, a record which still stands. This video of Steck’s climb makes it clear why 65 climbers have perished on this route since 1935
