Five vakas, traditional double hulled canoes, are planning to leave New Zealand next week on an incredible journey. The crews will be sailing west, first to French Polynesia, then to Hawaii, where a few brave souls will be breaking from the rest to take their voyage even further across the Pacific, all the way to San Francisco.
