Another beautiful day at Mammoth Mountain, at least for the most part until winds started to pick up at the tail end of the Grand Prix Superpipe finals. The big story today was Kelly Clark. Now I’m not trying to pump up female snowboarding because I am an XY chromosome human that happens to ride a snowboard, but Kelly Clark really blew minds today. I happened to be standing next to Greg Bretz, Louie Vito, Trevor Jacobs, and Mason Aguirre at the top of the pipe during Kelly’s first run and even they were blown away. Kelly was easily boosting higher than a majority of the men’s field. I could go on a tangent about how stoked I am to see Kelly at the level she is at right now, but I will just say the today Kelly Clark made me proud.
