Over a decade ago, I attended a meeting in the San Francisco area for a new not-for-profit BMX organization aimed at establishing a network of advocacy for getting BMX bikes into skateparks throughout the U.S. The organization was known as the BMX Riders Organization (BRO). At the time, it was a roundtable discussion of seasoned BMX riders that was aimed at getting legal permission to ride BMX bikes at skateparks that banned bikes. And the organization had some good momentum behind it, as well as altruistic motives.
