Porsche has stolen the opening day of the North American Auto Show in Detroit by unveiling the latest version of its 918 hybrid supercar.
Called the 918 RSR and billed as a racing laboratory, the concept combines hybrid technology from Porsche’s GT3 R hybrid race car with the styling of the 918 Spyder, first seen at 2010’s Geneva motor show.
In total the RSR has 756bhp; 555bhp comes from its mid-mounted V8 petrol engine (taken from Porsche’s RS Spyder LMP2 car) driven through a six-speed paddle-shift transmission to the rear wheels, and a further 201bhp  … Pictures & More
