American masters really showed their strength last month when the UCI Masters Track World Championships were held at the Anadia Velodrome in Portugal, October 26-31. With 48 medals, including 19 world titles, the U.S. came out on top of the medal count, beating out the track cycling power house nations of Australia and Great Britain.

The red, white and blue won a whopping seven world titles during the opening day’s time trials. Five silvers and a bronze were also picked up on day one.

Wilhelmus Zegers (Miramar, Fla./Hammer Racing Team) won the rainbow jersey in the men’s 45-49 750-meter contest while Reid Schwartz (Chicago, Ill./Midwest Masters Cycling Team) posted a time of   …  Details
