Vyain claims longboard world record, leads sweep of $17,500 prize money by NYC contingent
HALLANDALE BEACH — They ride their skateboards every day in New York City.
Given a controlled course and a motorized escort, the longboard crew of 15 from NYC turned the streets of Hallandale Beach and the Village at Gulfstream Park into their playground Saturday in the first Adrenalina Skateboard Marathon. While dominating an international field and claiming the $17,500 prize money awarded to the top three finishers, they gave an entertaining lesson in the burgeoning hip urban trend known as Push Culture.
