SAN DIEGO — Surfers taking to the waves at Pacific Beach Saturday during the Old Mission Beach Athletic Club’s 17th annual Longboard Surfing Contest will have to forgo their modern equipment in favor of something a little more seasoned.Â
Competitors in the contest, which will be held at the north side of Crystal Pier, must ride boards from 1969 or before, that are 9-feet-long or longer, with no leashes and no wetsuits, according to OMBAC.
