Not to be confused with Green Car of the Year or the North American Car of the Year or the European Car of the Year, the 2009 World Green Car of the Year award honors environmentally friendly cars that are available in at least one major market, i.e., North America, Europe or Asia. (Frankly, we were confused, too, calling the award World Green Car of the Year in the first version of this post. The award is part of the World Car of the Year Awards program.)
