Suzuki has been one of the best-kept secrets among the world’s automakers, at least in the United States.
The company, known here more for motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles and outboard boat engines, is the world’s 12th-largest automaker, with annual global sales exceeding those of Mazda, BMW, Mitsubishi, Mercedes-Benz or even the Dodge division of Chrysler LLC.
Suzuki’s Wagon R, a compact but tall wagon, is the best-selling vehicle in Japan, where it accounts for more sales than all Suzuki cars sold in the United States.
