SANTIAGO, Chile — Two-time World Rally champion Carlos Sainz has stretched his overall lead in the Dakar Rally with a second-place finish behind Stephane Peterhansel in Sunday’s eighth stage from Antofagasta to Copiapo in the Atacama desert.
