This is the moment a daredevil surfer risked his life to take on Britain’s biggest wave – a giant 40ft wall of water nicknamed the “widow maker”.
Ben Skinner, 24, rode the huge swell which is caused when a combination of tides and offshore winds hit the coast of Cornwall.
The wave – known as The Cribbar – is created as water passes over a rocky shelf half a mile offshore at Fistral Beach in Newquay.
