Question: What do surfing icons Mike Doyle, Joey Cabell, Mickey Munoz, Walter Hoffman, Jackie Baxter, Bing Copeland and Rory Russell have in common?

And – they will be coming to the California Surf Museum’s annual Legends Day on Sunday, October 4 to honor Duke Boyd, the surf industry father of ‘cool,’ to hang out and reminisce. Duke’s just-completed book, “Legends of Surfing,” will make its debut and will be available for sale. Filmmaker Eric Jordan will show excerpts from his new film, “For the Love of Surfing,” which has been 4 years in the making. You won’t want to miss this exceptional gathering!
Legends Day, held from 1-4pm at the Oceanside Library’s Community Room, 330 North Coast Highway in downtown Oceanside, is free and open to the public. The Moonlight Beach Ukulele Strummers and Dancers will perform throughout the afternoon, and an optional luau buffet is available for $20, $10 CSM members (reservations required).
