Colorado Springs, Colo. (September 10, 2009) – Round three of the UCI BMX Supercross World Cup presented by Swatch is set to get under way at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif. September 18-19.
Fifty-two Americans will be among the star-studded field of 150 riders, including 2008 Olympic silver medalist Mike Day (Santa Clarita, Calif./GT), 2009 world champion Donny Robinson (Napa, Calif./Hyper), 2009 USA Cycling National Champion Jason Rogers (Mesquite, Texas/Haro-Rockstar), 2008 overall women’s Super Cross champion Arielle Martin (Spanaway, Wash./GT Bicycles), and top-ranked ABA pro Khalen Young (Murieta, Calif./Haro-Rockstar).
Also lining up on the Olympic replica Supercross track will be top international riders like 2008 Olympic BMX gold medalist Maris Strombergs (Latvia/Free Agent) and reigning world champion Sara Walker (New Zealand).
Action begins on Friday when riders will race the clock in an attempt to qualify for Saturday night’s finals. On Saturday afternoon at 3:30, before the finals, athletes will be available for autographs during the Swatch Signature Session… Details Â
