Valentino Rossi beat his Yamaha teammate and title rival Jorge Lorenzo to the fastest time in opening practice for the San Marino Grand Prix at Misano.
Dani Pedrosa completed the top three, although his Honda slowed to a halt on its way back to the pits at the end of the session.
Indianapolis winner Lorenzo had led the way for most of the afternoon, hitting the front early on and staying there until briefly pipped by Pedrosa with 20 minutes to go…Â Details & Times
