When looking for a driver to replace the injured Felipe Massa at the European Grand Prix on Sunday, Ferrari first turned to 40-year-old Michael Schumacher, a seven-time world champion. After he bowed out with neck problems, the Italian team decided its 38-year-old test driver, Luca Badoer, should go to Valencia, Spain, for the race.

Badoer is not only the oldest driver in the race, he is twice the age of Jaime Alguersuari, the youngest driver ever to race in Formula One.
