KAHULUI – The animated “Kung Fu Panda,” the premiere of a film about a voyage to Lanai by young paddlers and live music by Na Hoku award winner Brother Noland will be offered Saturday night at Maui Community College.
The MauiFEST Hawai’i-MCC Drive-in Movie Theater series also will benefit the focus of the premiere movie, Hawaiian Canoe Club, which will receive a portion of pre-sold tickets.
Six movies will be shown:
* “Kung Fu Panda,” an Academy Award nominee for best animation of the year, features the voices of Jack Black, Jackie Chan and Angelina Jolie. The movie is about Po, a lazy, irreverent slacker panda who is a fan of kung fu. He is chosen to fulfill an ancient prophecy under the leadership of kung fu guru Shifu.
