Yes, people are skiing in Australia right now. Six hours south of Sydney and 2 hours south of Canberra is the resort of Perisher Blue. Imagine eastern resorts like Killington and Sunday River, but instead of New York/New Jersey accents, you hear “Krikee” and “Good on ya mate!”

Skiing in Australia is an interesting experience. For starters, you are skiing from about 6000 feet to 4000 feet or a vertical of approximately 2000 feet. Skiing through the trees in Australia is unique. Australia has snow gums trees, which look like they have red, rust, and yellow tribal tattoos all over their bark.
