LAHAINA — Kahana Canoe Club President Bobo Naleieha has been involved with the organization since he was a child during its organizational years in the mid-1970s.
Along with the Nuesca, Palakiko, Sadang and Pali families, the Naleieha clan launched KCC at a small fishing village north of Kaanapali, and young Bobo got a firsthand look at his forefathers nurturing the culture of the canoe during this time.
Now, some 33 years later, Bobo is the “Papa,†and fostering the culture of the outrigger canoe continues… DetailsÂ
