FAST and furious racing came to Plymouth as the Zapcats championships for small speedboats made waves in the Sound.
Twenty-five two-man teams braved wet and windy conditions over the weekend which left spectators almost as drenched as the competitors.
It was the first time in nine years that the Zapcat National Championships has visited Plymouth, which has a national reputation for larger powerboat racing.
Spectators lined the walls around the Waterfront bar to see competitors in Rounds 7 and 8 brave the choppy conditions on Saturday and Sunday.
The Zapcats raced over 16 heats each day followed by two finals for Division 1 and Division 2.
