The Red Bull Skate Generation contest itself is of course just the culmination of an entire weekend of skating and get-togethers around the island of Florianópolis to celebrate skateboarding culture and the community it has built here. As part of an island tour, Grazi Olliveira went to check out the notorious Ladeira downhill which you will doubtless remember from Madars Apse’s superb episode of Skate Tales with the Yuppie family with whom this stretch of road is forever associated.
She also stops by the legendary Hi Adventures guesthouse where visitors and locals alike keep the backyard bowl sessions fired up into the wee hours. Hop in the van for a closer look at skateboarding’s magic island!
