This past winter coast of California received an unusual series of high pressure systems during the peak of its winter. These systems blocked all swell traveling down the coast of Southern California. Meanwhile, the Atlantic’s swell window was wide open with an endless series of big surf with stellar conditions. With hopes of scoring 7 days of surf, Alex set off with a small quiver of Channel Islands Surfboards on a one-way ticket and as luck would have it, the hopes of seven days of surf turned into 5 swells over the course of four weeks.
