Snowboard – Telluride to host World Cup Snowboardcross race in December

 A snowboardcross camp at Telluride Ski Area last season has led to the resort becoming home to the sport’s World Cup event next season. 

The U.S. Snowboardcross Cup is scheduled for Telluride from Dec. 17-20, the only United States stop of the LG FIS Snowboard World Cup.

The Telluride event will be the second in a series of five Olympic qualification events for snowboardcross and parallel giant slalom.

Last season’s camp made an impression on the athletes, which led to Telluride getting the event.
