2.5 hours of sunlight, big tides, winter storms; not your ideal starting conditions for a mission. Regardless, it was what Oliver Hartkopp arrived to in mid-January. The plan had been clear for half a year, go to the Arctic in March when there’s snow and the skies are beautifully lit. An nontraditional winter storm made him splash the cash and chase Arctic swell in early January this year.
