NHRA driver Courtney Force will document her summer on the drag-racing circuit in an online column for USA TODAY. This is her first entry:

I am excited to be contributing to USATODAY.com this summer. Many of you may not know me as well as you may know my dad, 14-time Funny Car champion John Force, or maybe my older sister, professional Funny Car driver Ashley Force Hood.

I have been racing in the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series the past four years. I started my racing career just like Ashley in a Super Comp dragster. Last season I stepped up to the Top Alcohol Dragster class. This is the fastest class without racing professionally.
