If you tell someone who doesn’t follow snowboarding that Minnesota produces as many talented snowboarders as any state in the US, they will, at the very least, give you a puzzled look. Of the recent talent to come out of The Land of 10,000 Lakes, Jesse Paul is among the most noteworthy, and if you need an example to substantiate the aforementioned claim, Jesse is a solid one to point at. He’s migrated West as of recent, but we caught up with him this winter while he was home, in the environment that honed his uncanny ability—the rope tows of Elm Creek and the street spots of Minneapolis suburbs—to get an introspective look at one of the Midwest’s finest.
