Vail Resorts buys Whistler Blackcomb for $1.39 Billion

It was announced today that Whistler Blackcomb is the newest resort to join the Vail Resorts conglomerate, with Vail Resorts Inc. purchasing Whistler-Blackcomb Holdings for $1.39 billion CAD.

With this acquisition, Vail Resorts now owns the two largest ski resorts in North America: Whistler, which tops out at 8,171 skiable acres, and the combined area of Park City and Canyons (now branded under Park City), which–following Vail’s finalization of their purchase of PCMR were merged into   …  More
