Zyla’s first attempt to break the record was at the age of six months 26 days, on Lake Silver, in Winter Haven, Florida on Friday, May 20, 2016 – she skied 62 feet.
Zyla was just six months, 27 days old when she skied nearly 700 feet down the lake after our barefoot water ski tournament. It was quite a day… Zyla’s Daddy Keith, had set a pending World Record in barefoot waterskiing earlier in the day!
As far as we know, the old record of youngest water skier was set decades ago by a kid named Parks Bonifay and he was six months, 29 days. He skied just over 100 feet and he grew up to be a competitive wake boarder.
But on her second attempt on Saturday, May 21, 2016 Zyla crushed the record. World’s cutest water skier skied a dominant 686.4 feet at the age of six months, 27 days on Lake Grew, in Polk City, Florida.
