A 14-year-old Australian girl has made the most of her school holiday, taking the opportunity outside of the classroom to battle sub-zero temperatures in the Arctic and become the youngest person to ever ski to the North Pole.
Jade Hameister, a 14-year-old teen student from Melbourne, Australia, arrived at the North Pole Sunday after a 93-mile cross-country skiing journey. Joined by her father and a cameraman, Hameister had to overcome significant delays that forced the trio of adventurers to condense what was meant to be a 21-day trek into only 11 days.
