The White Ring Race, longest ski race in Europe, took place at Lech. But due to heavy weather conditions, the organizers were forced to shorten the track. Therefore, it was now called The Downhill. Nevertheless, the 1.000 participants, among others prominent former athletes like Jens Lehmann (GER), Jan Ulrich (GER) or Patrick Ortlieb (AUT), had to face a true challenge.
The quickest man in a time of one minute six seconds was Matthias Calovini (ITA). Behind him was Lucas Batlogg (AUT) on second and Heinz Kissling (AUT) on third place. Fastest woman was the 19-year old Austrian, Alexandra Scherer. Second was Julia Stalling (AUT) and in third place Carina Natter (AUT).
