Triumph Motorcycles Group, the historic motorbike marque, enjoyed a 19pc rise in sales last year but has warned it is “cautious” for the future as the economic downturn hurts consumers.

Triumph, which has enjoyed a resurgence since John Bloor bought the company in the 1980s, saw turnover grow 29pc to £284m in the year to June 30, 2008, it has revealed.

MX Sports Pro Racing and Lucas Oil have announced that the Women’s Motocross (WMX) Class will receive a premier television package for the 2009 season. All eight rounds of the series will be featured on the Versus Network with in-depth one hour broadcasts. In addition, four rounds will also air with half hour broadcasts on the Outdoor Channel. All of these programs will be produced by new series sponsor Lucas Oil, and the Lucas Oil Television studios.
