Splits, break-ups, and divorce topics are all the rage these days in headline news. For those exotic car owners and lovers who are fans of F1 Racing, it’s been a strange year thus far — and not one that’s been feeling very lovey dovey. Formula One auto competition has been big news for more than just the races and which drivers are winning lately (in case you have not heard). The big news is the divide between the Event owner and organization who are in a position of power and the teams who bring a huge fan base and following to the sport.

First thing’s first, however, as Rossi admitted the first objective is to clinch his 100th win in the series. The Italian rider admitted this will more than likely come during the course of this year, as he needs to keep winning races if he wants to defend his world title. As he goes for both targets this season, at least one more win is a must in 2009.

Motor racing chief Max Mosley made clear on Tuesday he would not be forced out of office by teams and car manufacturers threatening to set up their own Formula One championship.

In a combative letter to all member clubs, the International Automobile Federation (FIA) president indicated that he was minded instead to seek re-election as head of the governing body.

“Over recent weeks it has become increasingly clear that one of the objectives of the dissident teams is that I should resign,” Mosley said in the letter seen by Reuters.

“However, in light of the attack on the mandate you have entrusted to me, I must now …  Details
