Fast-talking NASCAR driver Kenny Wallace has always been popular. He just didn’t realize the extent of his appeal.
That changed when his fans began raising money to send him to the Nationwide road race in Montreal on Aug. 30 because his sponsor, the U.S. Border Patrol, won’t back the No. 28 car in events outside the United States.
Wallace’s fans learned of his plight when he wrote about it on his Facebook page early this year.
“I was just sitting here thinking if 5,000 fans each contributed 20 bucks, that’s $100,000,” said 64-year-old Jim Ryan, a retired car salesman from Cullman, Ala…Â Details
Smoke is everywhere. It bursts into the cabin through the STI’s windows, the roof vent and the hole around the shift lever. It finds its way between imperceptibly small gaps in the floor and it bellows from the holes in the carbon-fiber dashboard like fumes from the nostrils of a turbocharged dragon.

TRG Motorsports is heading to Indianapolis Motor Speedway for this weekend’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Allstate 400 at the Brickyard to run on Sunday, July 26.
David Gilliland will take the No. 71 TRG Motorsports Chevrolet Impala SS to the hallowed ground of motorsports for the team’s first race at the historic track. Gilliland has two starts at Indy with a best finish of 17th.
“Indy is its own unique track,†Gilliland said. “It is way different than any track we run. The shape of it with its long straights legendary, but yet it drives like an intermediate track. It is two-and-a-half miles, the same length as a super speedway, but it is its own deal for sure. We use close to an intermediate setup with the brakes and settings. Indy is a very historic track and one that everyone looks forward to racing.â€Â  … Details
