The Porsche 911 might be most known for its abilities as a fantastic circuit racing car, but it’s actually extremely useful in rallying as well. Teams like Tuthill use them to compete in safari rallies and ice races, and according to this video, so do Porsche factory Le Mans drivers.
Romain Dumas, one of Porsche’s 919 drivers, fielded his 911 GT3 rally car at the WRC-sanctioned Rallye Monte Carlo last weekend in the R-GT class. Ford Motor Company has finally revealed some of the performance specs for its new GT supercar.
We can confirm that the twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 fitted to the car makes 647 horsepower at 6,250 rpm and 550 pound-feet of torque at 5,900 rpm, with 90 percent of that torque figure coming up at 3,500 rpm. We also know via the EPA that the car returns 11 mpg city, 18 highway and 14 combined, which is worse than the fuel economy of the V-10-powered Dodge Viper.

This showroom-new looking 1975 Porsche 914 is owned by the fiancee of our favorite collector, Karl Muth, owner of the Ligenfelter Jaguar XJ we love so much. This 914 was converted in-period from the original 1800cc engine to 1920cc’s, and features a select few period modifications to go along with it, but in every other way, the 20,000 mile 914 feels absolutely showroom new.
