If you weren’t already worried enough about the embiggening of American political egos, now we have expanding ski empires to worry about.
On Aug. 8, Vail Resorts, the biggest entity in North American skiing, announced that they have joined Whistler Blackcomb with Vail Resorts. For a reported $1.06B, they bought Whistler Blackcomb, the biggest resort north of the border, adding it to their kingdom.
They now operate four out of the five biggest ski resorts on the continent.
