California Surf Festival Coming to Oceanside October 6-10

The Festival now in its 3rd year, is produced as a benefit by the California Surf Museum (CSM) in Oceanside, it will include film premieres, music concerts, VIP receptions, after party events, meet-and-greet with filmmakers, book signings, special art and history exhibitions, the 2010 Silver Surfer Award, and an exciting component the TransWorld SURF “Hot Grom Shorts Contest”. Kids 18 years and under are invited to submit a five minute surf or skate film to compete during the festival. Special prizes will be awarded to the talented young filmmakers, as well as showings on the big screen for friends and family to enjoy.

Wake Nation to add wakeboard park in Houston

The operators of the Wake Nation cable wakeboarding park in Fairfield are expanding their concept to Houston.

CEO Peter Kennedy said a water-sports complex in suburban Houston is in the works and is expected to open in spring 2011.
