Friday’s medal racing climax at the 2013 African Course Racing Championship in Soma Bay, Egypt dawned with lighter conditions compared to the past two days, and all was set for the most tense day of racing so far.
Johnny Heineken and Steph Bridge have conquered the 2013 African Course Racing Championship in Soma Bay, Egypt.
The last day of racing – the medal battle – was tense. Everything was still at stake. Only the best three riders of both division could secure a ticket to the final.
More than 100 young skateboarders – many of them with cuts and bruises on their legs and torsos from earlier falls – converged on a hill in San Pedro on Saturday for a day of fun.
They were taking part in a dangerous activity that, on normal days, is essentially banned from neighborhood streets. It’s called “bombing,” or careening down sloped streets at speeds greater than 25 mph.
