USA Cycling released today the selection procedures that will be used to determine the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team. The procedures outline the selection process across all four Olympic disciplines – Road, Mountain Bike, Track and BMX.

The selection procedures outline: prioritized automatic and discretionary selection criteria, key dates including any tryout events and long-team qualification period, maximum team size and more. The only discipline set to include an Olympic Trials event is men’s BMX where one of three maximum spots will be determined at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calf. on June 16, 2012   …  Details

INDIANAPOLIS – The Hoosier Mountain Bike Association has donated $1,000 to help eradicate invasive species from Brown County State Park.

The mountain bike group has been working with the Brown County Native Woodlands Project to eliminate Japanese stiltgrass, an invasive plant that has spread throughout the park along hiking, biking and horse trails. It also shows up along roadsides, creek beds and fire roads.

iXS recently released the 2011 schedule for the European, Swiss, German and Rookie Downhill Cup series in the spring, summer and fall. The first of six European Downhill Cups kicks off all racing April 30-May 1, at Monte Tamaro, Switzerland. The iXS European Championships, featuring downhill and “fourcross,” are slated for late August in Zermatt, Switzerland.

The iXS national series—German and Swiss—continue in 2011 with five stops in Switzerland and four in Germany. Also, three events for all ages and levels—the iXS Rookie Cup—are on the calendar in Germany. The full calendar follows   …  Details
