Zapcat Racing this weekend headed to Plymouth for Rounds 7 & 8 of the Zapcat National Championship. 25 Zapcat teams from the World’s largest one design championship made the journey and were faced with a mixed bag of conditions that provide fast and furious racing action.
Saturday saw teams faced with torrential rain and gusting winds providing the worst conditions the racers had faced this season. The tight tactical course just metres away from the harbour wall provided a fantastic racing course leaving the Zapcat teams with no room for error in their game plans.

Sluszny hopes for a Swedish storm.
#17 MasForce navigator Marc Sluszny is desperate for more bad weather in next month’s Scandinavian Grand Prix of the Sea in Gothenburg, Sweden.
The SuperSport boat finished third at the Italian Grand Prix of the Sea thanks to some rough seas and stormy weather during Sunday’s Endurance Race, and Sluszny is hopeful that similar conditions can propel the Belgians to more glory in their first season in the Powerboat P1 World Championship… Details and news on other BoatsÂ
FAST and furious racing came to Plymouth as the Zapcats championships for small speedboats made waves in the Sound.
Twenty-five two-man teams braved wet and windy conditions over the weekend which left spectators almost as drenched as the competitors.
It was the first time in nine years that the Zapcat National Championships has visited Plymouth, which has a national reputation for larger powerboat racing.
Spectators lined the walls around the Waterfront bar to see competitors in Rounds 7 and 8 brave the choppy conditions on Saturday and Sunday.
The Zapcats raced over 16 heats each day followed by two finals for Division 1 and Division 2.
