Don’t try this at home kids! This time on TRC we decided to change things up a bit from our usual car vs car battles and throw a Hydrostream Venom Powerboat into the mix. The Powerboat goes up against a Toyota Supra and Mitsubishi Evolution X in an intense side by side drag race! We had a ton of fun filming this one, hope you enjoy!

Yes, this is a sport. Arguably one of the more dangerous motorsports of them all. One navigator, one driver, and one dinghy is what it takes to join the chaos, but don’t be fooled by the smooth turns and perfect navigation…one wrong move and you’ll be tumbling up the shoreline. The sport is rooted in a rich history of dinghy racing in Australia, led by those brave enough to hang out over the hull and rip a turn at 20km/h. A jet boat driver and his navigator were lucky to walk away from a spectacular crash on the Gold Coast today – but somehow still managed to crack a joke after the high-speed crash and flip.
Driver Anthony Giustozzi and navigator Lachie Warner were roaring along during the V8 superboat champs just south of the Gold Coast, when the incident occurred.
Speeding around the course in a machine that can reach 100km/h in two seconds, the pair clipped the edge of the course during a turn, sending the boat into the air before it flipped three times.
As they pirouetted through the air, Warner’s hand flailed around helplessly before the boat slid to a halt on a bank upside down.
As helpers arrived, hurriedly shouting at each other to get the pair out, Giustozzi and Warner gave an unexpected reaction, laughing together before Giustozzi told the worried crew: “All good boys, just flip us over.”
