Formula One driver Jarno Trulli recently wrapped up his 2009 season with the Toyota Racing F1 team on the state-of-the-art Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi, UAE. For the Italian it was a bittersweet event, as Toyota announced that they were pulling out of the pinacle open-wheel series, just days after the end of the 2009 season.

Trulli’s future is unknown at this time; one new team for the 2010 season has recently shown interest but for now he had an interesting fun time in New Smyrna, Fla., USA, where he was behind the wheel of the No. 55 Toyota Camry belonging to Michael Waltrip Racing …  Details

Chad Knaus was clearly distracted as he leaned against a cart during a casual conversation before last week’s race in Phoenix. His eyes darted around, finally settling on an aerosol can and a box of towels.

“Move,” he ordered, just as he began spraying cleaner across the top of the nylon cover on the tool cart. He wiped away the offensive dust and dirt, rolled the towels into a ball and fired them into a nearby trash can.

“So, I was saying,” he started.

NASCAR’s elite teams are desperately trying to hold the line on sponsorship prices despite a glut of valuable 2010 inventory that remains unsold late in the year. To resist the temptation to slash rates, teams are beefing up their offerings with media, track assets and other elements not typically found in a car sponsorship package.

Top teams have found that merely selling space on the car for $20 million or more doesn’t cut it for most sponsors in this economic environment. Just look at all the space on highly competitive cars that’s available for 2010…  Details
