There’s lots of chat about Nico, of course, and of how his arrival will be a huge boost for SFI – but we look, too, at the new regs in general: how will the greater torque of the engines affect the way tyres evolve – and what, in turn, will this mean in terms of the way the drivers use the steering wheel and pedals? Well, that’s something very unusual! A group of Ferrari workers at Fiorano have used the 2013 Ferrari F1 F138 to pull a sled full of gifts, I have no idea what they were doing but it was absolutely funny to see! Behind the wheel of the Santamobile there was Ferrari’s F1 test driver Marc Genè.. with a Christmas hat obviously.
Dario Franchitti announced his retirement from the IndyCar Series on November 14, 2013. A legend to the sport, Franchitti has 3 Indianapolis 500 wins, 31 Indy car wins, 4 IndyCar championships, and is tied for 8th on the all-time win list. He will forever be regarded as one of the sport’s best drivers. Thank you, Dario.
