Costa Mesa, CA (February 27, 2009): Enriched deep with surfing culture and widely celebrated as “Surf City USA”, Huntington Beach is now officially home to Rip Curl’s newest global flagship store.

Located one block north of the famed Huntington Beach Pier on the Pacific Coast Highway, the store boasts a full offering of the latest Rip Curl wetsuits, boardshorts, apparel, watches, surfboards, accessories, and more.

“The vision of this store, which I feel we have accomplished, is to truly exhibit the breadth and depth of the Rip Curl brand,” stated Rip Curl USA President and CEO, Kelly Gibson.

From epic Tom Curren performances during the OP Pros and Katin Team Challenges in the 80’s and early 90’s to the partnership and sponsorship of HB icon Timmy Turner, Rip Curl is proud of its roots in Huntington Beach and extremely excited to start the next chapter.

“This store is a great statement for our brand,” said Global CEO Francois Payot. “It’s a fantastic showcase in the heart of American surfing.”

With memorabilia such as Tom Curren’s 1986 World Title trophy to an interactive touch screen wetsuit info center, the store has the perfect balance between showcasing the brand’s roots and its evolution. Considering Rip Curl is celebrating its 40th year since the brand’s inception, this new store is a global pillar of the brand’s equity and its pursuit to be regarded as “The Ultimate Surfing Company”.
