The World’s most recognized power boat racing series, the U.I.M. F1 World Championship Tour, announces today that they will take a giant step in honouring special individuals from around the world who made a special impact on the sport of catamaran racing in the past 50 years.

Bertrand increased his lead marginally at each rounding to defeat Chris Busch/Chad Hough/Chuck Sinks/David Hughes (USA) by around one minute and Stuart Childerley/Robert Elliott/Sam Richmond (UK) and Jud Smith/Mark Johnson/Nik Burfoot (AUS) followed.

The three threw everything they could at crew Bertrand in breezes that averaged 8.2 knots and peaked at 11 knots on Port Phillip today, but to no avail…  Details

canoeStudents use novel ideas in concrete boat competition.

“Sink like a rock” means nothing to the UNLV American Society of Civil Engineers concrete canoe team.

The self-proclaimed nerds from ASCE have defied the laws of reason by creating a cement block that won’t sleep with the fishes.

“It’s extremely nerdy, we know, but we love it,” team captain Tiffany Hearn said.  

The team of civil engineering majors will be competing in the regional concrete canoe competition in Hawaii against 20 universities in April. ..  Details
