Volvo Ocean Race – The Volvo Ocean Race is proud to announce its new youth sailing initiative, the Volvo Ocean Race Academy. This Academy marks the continuation of the Volvo Ocean Race’s commitment to youth sailing worldwide.
The project contains three activities to involve the children of each of the host ports. Firstly, the race will take over 14,000 children worldwide out on the water to ‘Try Sailing’. For the experienced young sailors of these countries, there will be the Academy Team Racing Series. Finally, there will be an educational programme to allow the host port schools to become involved in the race and sailing as a sport.

Jason Woods has just invented a new way of getting fast to the line-up, while avoiding several duck dives in giant walls of white water. The Kymera jet-powered bodyboard is a light watercraft designed for those who would like to experience a new way of riding waves.

While in New Zealand, we stopped at another beach and they were having some kind of boat races. I think it was called Thundercat racing, a new type of boat, because the announcer was really trying to sell the boats. 2 people per boat, the driver starts on the beach and when starting gun goes off they run to their boat and take off. They do 3 laps around a square track and come extremely close to the shore
