High speed racing onboard a 1485 horsepowered turbine powered race boat. This boat was clocked at over 140 mph during the race weekend held in Riggins Idaho. What makes this a step above the rest is that it was done on a river with rocks just below the boat insome places. Driving this boat would take nerves of steel along with a set of balls to match. US 18 Footers League is to hold a two day clinic based out of Richmond Yacht Club to help promote the fleet.
The newly formed US 18 Footers League is hoping to become the central clearinghouse for 18′ sailing in the US. ‘We are working in conjunction with other international fleets to build the US 18 fleet in size and skill, raise the profile of 18 sailing locally, nationally, and internationally, and hopefully, eventually use it as a platform to pitch the boats and the ‘league’ to potential sponsors.’Â Â Â …Â Pictures & More
The 1st Annual University of Hawaiʻi Maui College Outrigger Canoe Regatta on April 9, 2011 at Kahului Harbor brought close to 200 students, faculty and staff out to paddle. The event held at the Hawaiian Canoe Club Hale was full of excitement and team spirit as everyone prepared to race.
