Meet the boys: Trent McCrerey and Knox Hammack. Trent and Knox are pro kayakers that won TGR’s community entry for the Tough Fun Film Series, and spent the better part of May and June on a road trip of epic proportions, chasing water levels throughout the American West. Follow their adventure in TGR’s final short film from the Tough Fun trilogy, and watch them run some of the gnarliest whitewater in this part of the world.

I know the Big Island of Hawaii to be home of one of the greatest rivers the in the world, the Wailuku. Located in Hilo, Hawaii, it has 2 sections that are some of the best joy sections I ever get to experience.

“While lying in my bed, I notice a disturbance in the otherwise calm sea. Upon further inspection, I quickly became aware that it was a pod of Orca commencing their quest to hunt stingrays. Yelling to my family, I quickly grabbed my paddle and quickly paddled out into our local bay Sandy bay. There, I experienced the most amazing encounter , with the ocra pod. I followed them for over an hour, during which, the orca approached my kayak on numerous occasions. I looked plenty of still shots as well as video footage. I watched In awe as these majestic mammals hunted and feed on the Ray’s wings.”
