Puma Ocean Racing have completed a mid-sea fuel transfer that will allow them to reach land, the first phase of their logistical battle to stay in the Volvo Ocean Race.

PUMA’s Mar Mostro suffered a broken mast on November 21, 2011 during the first leg of the Volvo Ocean Race 2011-12, which began November 5, 2011 in Alicante, Spain. The rig onboard Mar Mostro failed at approximately 15:00 UTC in the South Atlantic Ocean, about 2,150 nautical miles from Cape Town, South Africa.
