The 28th annual Duke Kahanamoku Challenge, a mix of Hawaii heritage and Waikiki fun, will get under way at 9 a.m. Sun., Feb. 24 with a touch of tradition: a double-hulled canoe procession, an oli (chant) and kahiko (ancient hula) presentation.

The American Youth Sailing Force (AYSF), has taken over regular maintenance of two AC45 yachts for use in the Red Bull Youth Americas Cup (RBYAC) International Selection Series. This Selection Series will determine which four international youth teams will compete in the RBYAC September 1-4 prior to the America’s Cup. The two-part trials take place February 9-15 and February 18-24. The last three days of each Series include direct head-to-head competition between rivals.

The Red Bull Youth America’s Cup Selection Series provided on the first day an illustration of the massive expectations on the youth teams who have congregated in San Francisco for a shot at advancing to September’s regatta.
